It’s February! Which means, it’s all about LOVE this month! Not a fan of Valentines Day? Why do we need a holiday to remind us to share the love? Well, whether you are a fan of Vday or not, let’s practice ways to show some SELF love this month with 3 of my favorite heart opening yoga poses.

These poses have a lot of physical and emotional benefits and can be practiced daily! If you’re like me, your ability to GIVE love may come easier than receiving it.

So it’s important to take time to nourish and care for yourself too!

And I have the perfect energetic heart opening yoga poses for you girl!

but first - Who is better at giving than receiving love?

These 3 poses can help you tap into your true self & open your heart chakra . But let’s not get too esoteric here, I just love the way these poses feel!! And they can be practiced anywhere & anytime you need a little pick me up.

Heart Opener Pose 1:

Extended Heart Warrior

I looooove this pose! Its a hip, chest, heart and back opener! So many benefits for the spine, toning for the abs and great for leg strength! Just try it, you will seriously love it too!

Heart Opener Pose 2:

Modified Wild Thing

Now, c’mon with a fun pose name like Wild Thing, how can you NOT love this pose! Even if you have never tried it before! This is YOUR go-to get happy pose. It always puts me in a good mood! And of course, I love the physical benefits of this heart opener. If you have crappy upper back posture or rounded shoulders this one will most certainly un-do a lot of tightness in the shoulders. But also, this pose activates the glutes, thighs and core.

Heart Opener Pose 3:

Yoga Bridge

Proper yoga bridge pose requires a lot of mobility in your upper back and anterior shoulders to be able to snuggle those upper arms underneath your torso. And wrists need to be supple enough to interlace the hands.

Bridge pose is so good for so many ailments including a tight lumbar spine, internal organ health, neck alignment & thyroid imbalances just to name a few. For me I love the broad stretch in the chest, hip flexors & thighs. I feel so alive in this pose!
